Most UNDERRATED Country in Europe - Belgrade, Serbia

Belgrade, Serbia has to be the most Underrated city in Europe! I recently traveled to Belgrade, Serbia and my god... this city is so beautiful. It is so alive! I think this is the most underrated country in Europe. More people need to visit.

Check out what I filmed. Remember, this was a rainy day. So, the city was not as alive as it would be had it been sunny!

Thank you for watching!

beograd- the white city, is the most underated city in all of europe...... belgrade was the capital .principality of serbia, kingdom and later federal republic of jugoslavia... its very rich in history, a gateway to east and south europe on the sava river and duna-danbube river to central -northern europe... pobably as important as constantiopole-istabul in geography, as every empire wanted too control it... trg republik is quite busy and good place to watch locals and tourists..., also look at the obrovenich and karadjorge dynasties history * when serbia was a monarchy... a kingdom... also the rakija and the kolo dance... just a note* the serbian dinar,,,, should be a polymer note, it would not tear or break at all..., one of the few issues , in comparison to the romanian leu that is polymer banknote...

I am from Serbia. And... btw. Lets be honest. Belgrade is just ordinary balcan big city, on edge of Europe. Yep, architecture is unique, not like in central Europe. But nothing special in general. Main value of this city are people, city has the soul. Lot of cities has no a soul, Belgrade stil has it. And second factor of atraction. Belgrade is cheap city, Serbia is cheap country in comparation with most of european countries. Cheap but civilised and relatively clean. Cheap but Is not 3rd world country. This is very important to say.

I dont know what his standards are but if he is saying that Belgrade is better than all those other cities, he is not showing it in the video. I am not seeing anything that makes it better than all the other cities. I guess he is just not very well-informed. And what is with all this comparing. It fills up the video, and gets very annoying.

Glad you like it here. Btw Chicago and Belgrade are officially sister cities. As for black people, there is a reason for that. Serbia never had colonies, never imported slaves, and in new age, when people started moving more freely around, Serbia was poor, politically unstable, and not very interesting to foreigners of any race. There was a time sometimes between 60's and 90's when people were coming from African countries to study in Belgrade, some of them stayed, and that's about it. Now more and more people find Belgrade as a gem and decide to move here to live, so it's getting more common to see racial diversity.

@Opšte poznato The old system of “brain drain” where you let in only the best, brightest, most civilized, high IQ people works well to create high end diversity. It’s when you let in the uncivilized trash of the world that things go bad. It’s the same as gardening. You need to be thoughtful

@Evan Ramani like people say its because serbia never colonised because it was conquered by the ottomans in the 15th century and serbs were under ottoman rule for 400-500 years. And well serbs themselfes were ottoman slaves. So after the second serbian revolution in 1835 the first serbian constitution was made after serbia got half autonomy(basically anything related to managing the country serbia was free to do whatever it wants, BUT it couldnt have things like a military and such) and there was a part that said "If any slave steps onto Serbian soil, he or she no longer is a slave". But sadly since that constitution was made 20 years after the rest of europe was done dealing with Napoleon. They were really scared of any kind of progressive constituions made by rebelious people. And because they saw similarities between the french revolution and the serbian one(during the french one the people of france have overthrown a monarchy, serbs overthrown the sultan, the french made a constitution where they talk about ending slavery, serbs did the same.) so they were scared that we would inspire people across europe to do the same so they pressured us into removing it from function.

Welcome to Serbia, mate! I'm glad you've made it! Now enjoy, you came at arguably the best season - spring. Try to catch some nature at Ada, Koshutnyak or Avala during the spring time. The public transport system is super easy to use. At basically any kiosk you can buy a BusPlus card that costs like 2,5USD or so. Than you charge it at the same place with, let's say 10 more bucks. Whenever you enter the bus, put your card to the electronic reader and it's done. Keep in mind that 1h of ride is a bit less than 1USD and you can change vehicles in that time. There are good maps everywhere, the vehicles are well marked, there's an app and a good website for BusPlus as well. Check it. Enjoy your stay! I'm subscribed. Greetings from Colombia!

4:37 2/3 of Serbia was being part of Ottoman empire 300 - 500 years. We do not have lot of Turkish people in Serbia, but some Turks decided to come here from Turkey and open their business. Chinese, greek, lebanese, turkish, mexican, indian, palestinean and israelian restaurants are ewerywhere around the city. Btw. Before wars, Serbia together with Yugoaslavia was being the richest country in east Europe, equal to some western countries like Italy or France maybe. Today, we are 4th or 7th the poorest country in Europe as you sayed in video. Sorry, my english.

Healtcare quality, human rights and other. Ok, human rights... hmmm. If you like to criticise govermant-Tito, your human rights will be at very low level. But in other segments of life, human rights in Yougoslavia are on higher level then western Europe. Rights of workers, rights of people in generaly. Very good standard of life in sence of monthly income and what you can buy for that money, jobs are secure, when you start to work on one place, you will retire on that working position 100%,only if you want to change it. It feels safe and like home. That's how this country is. It has a deeply rooted culture and people notice that. Yugoslavia was getting too ahead for some people's likings, they were self-sufficient and had enough for its people. Life was more village like. They had pretty much everything even the 3rd largest army in Europe. But then they came to smash it all up out of jealousy.

@TunelessGuide 27 Dude 😂 Just google what is the oldest european haplogroup (I2a) and where the most are living . You are a Sqipptar and the oldest text ist from 1555 😁 I have an old german Illyrian dictonary, If you want I can send it here ! Have a nice serbian year 7530 ...and about your "Albanian" Genetik Professor Sofija Kiliani Shqiptaret now days are not European. They carry 3 haplogroups. R1b-th35 ( L23,51,11 & Z2103)connected to Coucasus region dominant among Armenians evolved in Caucasus. The most dominant haplogroup among Albanians is the most common haplogroup in Near East and Middle East. J2a developed in Read Sea and spread through out Asia West, South West and Africa. It did not evolve in Eurpope. The third one is E-M35 from North Africa ( Ethiopia). So they can not be Europeans. So, if they are not mostly Europeans how they can clame that they are the oldest Europeans? Refer to ; European Y-DNA haplogroups frequencies by country They are only Europeans because they carry E-V13 mutant from Central Europe. This mutant of North East African haplogroup E1b1b muteted in E-V13 in Central Europe. This haplogroup in two subclassess arrived 8n Monte Negro in Bronse Age over the Alps. 25% of Albanians carry younger firms of these two subclassess. They are directly descendants of Serbs from Monte Negro. Only this haplogroups make tham Europians. Balkan ethnicity distribution - MyHeritage By My Heritage Shqiptaret aka Albanians are on the 12th position being original outochtonouse to Balkan. So they can not clame that they are the oldest Europeans. It is an absurd effort to claim lands from Serbs using fraudulent origin, identity, history, language and on. Arbavite have gone from Albania long time ago. They probably carried E-V13 haplogroup have wore to pop q opance, fustanella. It is not dance or dresses of Shqiptaret from Albania. Serbs from East Serbia stil wear opance and fustanella like Arvanites who left Albania by being expeled by Shqiptaret long time ago. Shqiptaret have stollen their lands like they are using the same uproch to Serbs stilling from them their native lands. They olready have stolen North Albania from Serbs and legacy of Skender Beg the Serbs Lord.

@TunelessGuide 27 I didn't said anything about Illyrians(they were in mostly coastline parts of Jadran sea). I said South Slavs are Serbs, Croats and Bulgars(they mixed with some tatar tribe, but they are mostly Slavic) are from Carpats and todays Transylvania. There was migration but not from Ural, not from Caucasia as some Albanians said, we are not from Ukraine. West and East Slavs are from todays Ukraine. Carpats are in todays Serbia. There are many pagan sculptures from Niš to Subotica to Timisoara.

@неКи лиК So you're saying slav migration is propaganda, even tho it has been proved by historians, and Illyrians (Albanians) did migrade or are caucasus, ecen tho it has been proved that they did not come from anywhere? You're the most serb I've ever seen

Bro, that was a very good video. It can be seen by your face that you are genuine and honest. Belgrade is maybe 1/4 alive these days because of the bad weather for this part of the year and covid restrictions. On May 8th the restaurants should be officially open (some work now but they are breaking the rules it's a common thing in Serbia lol) and we eevt better weather. Hope you will stay for a while to enjoy the atmosphere. Welcome to Belgrade and have fun. :)
